Standard terms & disclaimer

These terms apply to every account, event listing and sponsorship contract created on thesponsor.co. They are shown again at sign-up and before any contract is endorsed.

1. 01

   thesponsor.co is a listing and introduction platform only. It is not a party to any sponsorship agreement formed between an event organiser and a sponsor.

   thesponsor.co does not hold, escrow, guarantee or insure sponsorship funds, goods or services, and gives no warranty that any event will take place as described.

3. 03

   Each party is solely responsible for verifying the identity, legitimacy, insurance and tax status of the other party before transferring any value.

4. 04

   All information in an event listing is supplied by the organiser. The organiser warrants it is accurate, lawful and not misleading.

5. 05

   To the fullest extent permitted by law, thesponsor.co, its owners, directors and staff are released from any claim, loss, damage, cost, tax liability or dispute arising from a sponsorship transaction, cancellation, non-performance or misrepresentation.

6. 06

   Sponsorship amounts on this platform are capped at CAD $250.00 per event listing.

7. 07

   Sponsorship may be offered as money or as services — volunteer time or the lending of goods such as tables, chairs or equipment. Where services are offered, the organiser and the sponsor are solely responsible for delivery, condition, transport, insurance and return of any goods or labour.

8. 08

   A non-refundable service fee of CAD $25.00 is payable by the sponsor to thesponsor.co on every endorsed contract, plus HST at 13% charged on the sponsorship amount and the service fee in accordance with Canadian law. No fee is charged to the event organiser.

9. 09

   The sponsorship amount itself is paid by the sponsor directly to the event organiser by Interac e-Transfer. thesponsor.co never receives, holds or forwards those funds.

10. 10

    Charitable tax receipts, where applicable, are issued by the charity itself and never by the platform.

11. 11

    Disputes between organisers and sponsors must be resolved directly between them. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

    By ticking the acceptance box you confirm you have authority to bind yourself or your organisation and that you accept these terms in full.
